gem-extra software package provides Graphics Environment for Multimedia - extra objects, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install gem-extra
gem-extra is installed in your system.
Make ensure the gem-extra package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gem-extra *
You will get with gem-extra package name, version, architecture and description in a table
